A Shared Direction for Africa’s Future.
A continental vision. A collective responsibility.
Agenda 2063 is the African Union’s long-term development framework. It connects economic transformation, continental cooperation, accountable institutions and people’s participation in shaping Africa’s future.
The Mission draws on its aspirations to guide programme development, public engagement and collaboration. The themes below are plain-language summaries, not the official aspiration titles.
Shared prosperity
Improving livelihoods, opportunity and environmental sustainability.
Continental unity
Strengthening integration and cooperation grounded in Pan-African ideals.
Accountable institutions
Advancing democracy, justice, rights and lawful governance.
Peace and security
Supporting stability, prevention and peaceful coexistence.
Cultural confidence
Valuing African heritage, identity and ethical traditions.
People-driven development
Expanding participation, particularly for women and young people, while protecting children.
Africa’s global contribution
Strengthening Africa’s collective voice and international cooperation.
Our Contribution
The Mission connects these themes with its own programme priorities. This mapping describes intended contributions and does not make Mission initiatives official African Union flagship projects.
